Making Human Compasses and Walking Across the USA during Social Studies

Celebrating International DOT Day....embracing our creativity and imagination

September 15th is International DOT Day.  We celebrated by reading Peter Reynolds book The Dot and comparing it to The Dot Song.  We then each "Made a Mark to See Where it Took Us".
(Sing along to The Dot Song under Resources click Fun & Inspirational)

Marble Challenge

Students worked in cooperative groups to design a structure for a marble to roll.  They worked hard to create, test, improved  before sharing with their classmates.  After they reflected on the process in their Science Journals.  We are a group of thoughtful and creative scientists!

Yoga Fridays

Fridays are our day of learning new Yoga poses.  We use these throughout the week to help us when we need to energize, focus, be strong and confident, relax or be calm.

Read and Relax

Friday was our first of our monthly Read and Relax.  To relax we enjoyed a snack and read picture books with a partner.  It was a big hit with the students.

So far the year is going great thanks to Ms. Kilpatrick and Ms. Follet. my favorite part is when we did all those fun activities on Peace one day! My favorite activity was making the peace signs on the playground with chalk.
