My passions are reading, writing, teaching, health and exercise and photography. These are things I try to do everyday because I enjoy them so much. When reading I prefer to read non-fiction books. I love to learn new information. I also enjoy picture and middle grade books. I love to discuss books with my students and always have a book to recommend to them. A more recent interest is writing. I write in my daily journal to reflect on everyday situations and events in my life. To keep healthy and feel energized I try to eat healthy foods and do some kind of exercise everyday. When practicing my photography, I take lots of pictures of my family and nature. I also love to take pictures of the class and students in action (so bring a smile to school everyday and don't be camera shy). Some of my favorites...the beach, hiking, watching professional and Westborough sports, my morning green juice and ice cream!

One of my favorite activities is traveling. I have traveled throughout our country and the world. I think I like reading so much because books can take us many places. They introduce us to lots of interesting people and places. My favorite type of books to read are really, really long historical fiction books. They make me feel like I'm a part of the characters' lives. I get sad at the end of the book when I have to leave them. I love when the book has a sequel and I can continue to be a part of their lives.
When I have free time, you can find me doing yoga or PX90, hiking, kayaking, skiing, and helping others. I'm also a vegan. That means I only eat foods that come from plants. My absolute favorite food to eat is chocolate. This can be a problem for a herbivore.
I'm the luckiest person to have three daughters and two grandchildren. My husband and I spend lots of time with them. My daughters, grandchildren and I get pretty silly. We have a song for everything that happens and often burst into singing. This can drive Mr. Follett crazy but we share lots of laughter.
When I think about learning, I'd say I learn best with pictures. You'll probably see me sketching out what we talk about. I'm pretty organized and like to write lists of things to do. I did lots of reading over the summer so that Ms. Kilpatrick and I can be partners in our teaching and learning.
